Everything you need to know about claiming flight compensation
What is FlyRights?
FlyRights is a flight compensation service that helps passengers claim money they're owed under EU Regulation 261/2004. We handle all communication with airlines on your behalf and only charge a fee if we successfully recover your compensation.
How much does FlyRights cost?
We charge 25% of your compensation - the lowest fee in Europe. If you're awarded €600, we keep €150 and you receive €450. If we don't win your claim, you pay absolutely nothing. No upfront costs, no hidden fees.
Am I eligible for compensation?
You're eligible if: (1) Your flight departed from the EU or arrived in the EU on an EU airline, (2) Your flight was delayed 3+ hours, cancelled, or overbooked, (3) The delay wasn't caused by extraordinary circumstances (like extreme weather), (4) The flight was within the last 6 years.
How much compensation can I claim?
Compensation depends on flight distance: €250 for flights up to 1,500km, €400 for 1,500-3,500km, and €600 for flights over 3,500km. The delay must be 3+ hours (or 4+ hours for very long flights). Use our flight checker to see your exact amount.
Can I claim for old flights?
Yes! You can claim for flights up to 6 years old in most countries (5 years in some). Even if your delay happened years ago, check if you're eligible - many passengers don't realize they're still owed money.
How long does the process take?
Most claims are resolved in 3-6 weeks. We submit your claim within 72 hours, then the airline typically takes 2-5 weeks to process and pay. You'll get SMS updates throughout the process so you always know what's happening.
What if the airline rejects my claim?
If the airline rejects your claim, we escalate to the relevant aviation authority (like the CAA in the UK). If needed, we'll take legal action. You still pay nothing unless we win. Our 94% success rate means most claims are successful.
Do I need my booking confirmation?
It's helpful but not essential. We need your flight number, date, and booking reference. If you don't have the booking reference, we can often find it using your name and flight details. We'll work with whatever information you have.
How do I receive my compensation?
We use Stripe to process payments securely. During the claim process, you'll connect your bank account (takes 2 minutes). When the airline pays, we automatically transfer your share (75%) directly to your account. You'll get an SMS notification when payment is sent.
Is there any upfront cost?
No! There's absolutely no upfront cost. We only charge our 25% fee if we successfully recover your compensation. If we don't win, you pay nothing. We even cover all legal costs if the claim needs to go to court.
Which airlines are covered?
All airlines operating flights to/from the EU are covered under EU261. This includes British Airways, Ryanair, EasyJet, Lufthansa, Air France, KLM, Iberia, and many more. Even non-EU airlines are covered if flying from an EU airport.
Can I claim if I already contacted the airline?
Yes! Even if you've already contacted the airline and they rejected your claim, we can still help. Airlines often reject direct claims hoping passengers give up. We know the regulations inside-out and how to get airlines to pay.
